I don't like to see anybody lose their job obviously, but maybe this will provide some time for Brian Engblom to get a haircut.

Well since Milbury has at least two other gigs if he was let go it won't be that big a deal for him.

I'm still holding out hope that some team will be dumb enough to give him a GM job so I don't have to see or listen to him anymore.

Nah, its mostly because of the Comcast/NBC merger. They've already started small changes on the Golf Channel and said VS will be getting a new name soon. If anything, this help's VS chances of keeping the NHL

I understand that...but why'd they cut on air guys too? I dunno. If this opens a door for...I dunno BILL CLEMENT and, perhaps, GARY THORNE, I will be thrilled That's the only thing I miss from NHL on ESPN anyway. Hah. If you think about it, most of the guys VS uses have other announcing/analysis jobs. In fact, I think all of them do.

Thorne's got a pretty goofy deal with the Orioles that has another year on it. There's supposedly all kinds of events he's not allowed to do. And he's going to have stuff to talk about this year what with the Orioles finally replacing Albert Belle and all.

Any idea what the new "Vs" is gonna be. Comcast has had a Hard on to ave a competing legit sports network for years. I would be it's going to be NBC/SI. They will partner with Sports illustrated.

And there will be "Soup" shows. Oh yes. Lots of "soup" shows.

I'd love TSN. But that's mostly because I'm a hockey fan. I'm pretty sure that TSN is similar to ESPN, except that the NHL replaces the NFL. But hey, I'm okay with that!

He's got a good hockey sense, and knows what he's talking about. Personally I don't like him just because he has good reason to hate the Pens, and occasionally it shows. Not as big a deal as Pierre though. Hope those players are ready for even more awkward close conversations!

lol, the comments section under that Yahoo story is hilarious. I'm not quite on board the McGuire hate train like everyone is, I do think he talks down to his American audiences but the dude is quite knowledgeable... however some of those comments are gold. They are almost all about hating on "Lucky" Pierre.
