Here we go again…. I hope this isn’t the case. NC just doesn’t seem like a good fit culturally.

You mean the Big 10 doesn't support schools that make up imaginary classes for its athletes but blame it on a sole rogue professor?

Well it's a good university. Charlotte, Chapel Hill and Raleigh-Durham, and maybe Asheville, probably fit the Big Ten ok, the more redneck parts of the state not so much.

Same goes for Virginia. NoVA is the Northeast now.

Basically so many Northerners moving to suburban DC and Charlotte that neither of these places are Southern anymore. I mean Obama won North Carolina in 2008, and Virginia twice.

Would much rather have Virginia Tech if we're going to take another ACC school.

No more basketball schools.

You've got no real reason to claim that.

This isn't about a cultural fit anymore, it's all about money. Delaney said as much when Maryland/Rutgers were announced. Their main goal is to spread the BTN as far as possible. That means the east coast, specifically NC because that is viewed as an emerging and growing market. If they end up getting UNC & GTech, it could conceivably force ND to finally choose where it wants to go. I also don't think that Delaney intends on stopping any time soon, but that's just my opinion.

LOL, ahhhhh, the good ole days, when everyone blamed Texas for conference realignment. Even when Delaney offered Texas years ago and was turned down, but it was our fault and that's why NU, CU, TAMU and MU had to leave......LMAO

Delaney has been behind all of the realignment, and you're right, he's not stopping anytime soon

I think he wants 20-24 teams, including Notre Dame. That would cover the Midwest and the East Coast and then they can talk to the Pac12 about some sort of partnership. Both conference networks are hooked in with Fox. That would give the B1G Coast-Coast coverage. It could even force a playoff type situation where the B1G/Pac winner faces off against the SEC/Big12 winner.

Sure I do. I'll take you to the class right now...oh wait.

Not having to show up to class =/= having imaginary athletes for college athletes. They still did work. They had help from tutors, but we know that they actually had a big assignment to complete.

If UNC wanted athletes to not do anything they wouldve had them register for online classes so that the tutors could do all the work for them. They wouldve never done anything except study football.
