1. Oklahoma 96 points (7 first place votes)
The Sooners rode the wave of a bowl beatdown of Alabama to the top spot. Can they repeat the top-level performance of that game on a week-to-week basis?

2. Baylor 92 points (3 first place votes)
The Bears scored at an Arena League pace in 2013, and despite the loss of some key talent appear to be ready to put up points in bunches again this season.

3.Kansas State 78 points
Respect for K-State's program starts with head coach Bill Snyder, and continues with the way the Wildcats compete in every game. They may not have the most talent, but rarely will they beat themselves.

4. Oklahoma State 63 points
The Cowboys and Longhorns finished in a tie for fourth in our polling. OSU saw a wide range of opinions, gathering votes from second through sixth place in the balloting to best the views of many outside the league.

4. Texas 63 points
Opinions also differed on the Longhorns, where a revamping of the program is underway. Will that be a rebuilding or a reloading? With votes as high as third and as low as sixth, the answer isn't readily apparent.

6. Texas Tech 52 points
The Red Raiders were likewise the subject of varying degrees of optimism, receiving votes as high as fourth and as low as eighth.

7. TCU 42 points
TCU will try to rely on a defense without its star as it seeks to reverse last year's disappointing slide.

8. West Virginia 28 points
West Virginia's end of season meltdown contributed to a generally low outlook for 2014. It received four votes as one of the bottom two teams in the league.

9. Iowa State 23 points
There was a bit of optimism for the Cyclones, who received four votes in the seventh and eight positions combined. Another quarterback switch and defensive losses kept them from catching WVU for the eighth overall spot.

10. Kansas 13 points
Kansas received three ninth-place votes, but was tabbed for the bottom spot on the other seven ballots. Potential losses of two top running backs contributed to downgrading of a Jayhawk team that showed some life at the end of the 2013 season.

Not sure why TT is getting so much love...I see them winning 4 games tops ...same with K State...they are a .500 team at best....I think Wv is the sleeper team...I think it's good...let this team fly below the radar...better to go in with a chip on your shoulder than a target on your back!

I don't want to get TOO optimistic but at the same time this team has SR players at all of the major skill positions, two very good special teams players in OTool and Lambert, and a defense that's returning alot of experienced players with a defensive coaching add that might have us sporting the best defensive coach we have ever had (in most CFB circles) in Bradley.
As crazy as this conference can be, it wont surprise me at all if this team finishes in the top 3 of the Big12, but then again, after the last season and half its tough to EXPECT that kind of a year.
