Got nothing. I've never seen either. I'll probably get around to The Wire eventually. I actually did watch the first one... or started to. I fell asleep... no fault of the show. I was beat. I've noticed that its fans tend to get a little unhinged when it's suggested that it might not be the best TV show that has ever been or will ever be. That's sort of disturbing. I'll get around to seeing what all the fuss is about some day.

It is very good. But you are right about the fans. They tend to make GoT or TWD fanboys look well-adjusted in comparison.

Well...my wife got me the box set of the Wire for Christmas. Watched the first episode last night.
I know it means nothing, but if we were to compare first episodes, The Walking Dead wins in the biggest landslide of all time.
Episode 1 of the Walking Dead, I was hooked immediately. Episode 1 of the Wire, I had to force myself to stay awake. Might be one of the worst first episodes I've ever seen?
I'm sure it will get better and I will continue watching, but it's off to a pretty shaky start IMO.

The Wire was a slow burn. It never was a complete knock over the head show (IMHO)
