Who is the best SS/3B combo in the majors?
Not sure why Bryant/Russell is not on there...
I almost put Bryant/Russell on there, Bryant is a beast and Russell should be. But Russell has mostly struggled for now his 2nd straight year. And how can you possibly think it makes more sense than Turner/Rendon?It would make more sense than Bogaerts/Devers or Turner/Rendon. Bryant's one of the very best players in baseball and Russell is a good player, though I think he'll eventually blossom into a good hitter.
I would've said Machado was better than Arenado when he was still playing 3B, but now that he's a shortstop I would probably agree with you that Arenado is the best 3B in the league. Like you said, Bryant is definitely a better hitter but nowhere near as good defensively.Kris Bryant has a better bat, especially when you are adjusting for parks. Arenado is by far better defensive player though. You can prefer any one of 5 3B and make a case for it. I just take the most well rounded player.

Does it? Anyone who has seen Arenado play would say he is AT WORST one of the best defensive 3B today. Dude is an absolute beast with the glove. And he is a clear middle of the order bat (maybe not MVP-level).Arenado's a better defender for sure, but we're also talking about a 16 point gap in wRC+ since Bryant's rookie year. They've both been pretty equal offensively this year, so I wouldn't argue with Arenado being better this year.
it also depends on how much stock you put into defensive metrics.
Bryant is #1 among 3B in WAR since his rookie season with Donaldson just behind him.

He is without a doubt on the short list of “Best 3B in the game”. Anyone who laughs at that assertion should just stop following the game today.
Bogaerts/Devers shouldn't be on here. Bogaerts is doing great, but Devers is struggling. Try again in a year or two.
Indians and it isn't close.
