I want to see him run a dynamic offense that keeps defenses of balance with hard nosed running, option reads, screen plays, play action passing and smart passing.

He's kind of gimpy right now, but no, we will still need him after Bell graduates.

Been watching Bell's career since he was recruited. The kid can throw the ball. Mark my words he will have a better completion percentage than TK a much better percentage! The only thing Bell doesn't bring to the table that TK and Thompson both do is the ability to just plan out run people. Bell is mobile but he isn't running away from anyone. He may run over them but not away from. So our QB won't have any 80 yard runs but he will have plenty of 20 and 30 yarders and complete the ball at a higher percentage. I will take that trade.

We basically need a game manager who can make the smart pass. With our backs and Bell's ability to at least be a threat to run the ball we don't need a guy to throw 50 times a game in a scheme with 4-5 receivers every other down.

Tulsa got blown out by Bowling Green their first game (albeit without their star receiver) and struggled with Colo. State until coming from behind to win by 3. Colo. State was pummeled by CU in their first game. Tulsa has problems running the ball but is still a threat throwing, their defense is probably worse than the previous two OU has faced.

well that sounds perfect for Bell to get some warm up time, and some confidence.

Defense is going to have to be at their top game. Need to get pressure on Tulsa's QB and force him to make bad passes otherwise the defense could be chasing down receivers all afternoon.

Can I get a little love here? 27/37 4 TD 413 yards! I wanted this kid to start over Landry the past two seasons! The biggest up side it YAC. The WR's are hit in stride so they can run after the catch! Funny how that works!

Don't get me wrong Bell will have his struggles but they will be more to do with inexperience than any ability problems. We should have gotten the reps in the first two games and these would have been minimized. But now we got him we have something to build around.

Just wish I had the same good feelings about going to ND in two weeks! I know Bell has played in big games on the road and he didn't look the least bit rattled by the home crowd but it still scares me having ND be his first road game as the starter. What is your opinion? Can he carry this moment up to ND?
