I agree - I actually thought Butler would blow TX off of the court. So they played above what I expected.
BU and I St however, other than Kansas - the supposed cream of the B12. Not a good day for the conf.

Our chances of winning the Tournament have just gone up as we have matchup problems against Baylor, ISu and Texas.

I think that Kentucky will have a matchup problem against us. We are too short for them. They will have trouble with the dribble and bounce passes against our Defense. Let me be the first one to call the upset in the Sweet 16.

GA State won on a shot 5ft behind the top of the key. So not sure about your argument there BB. ISU didn't show up to play and got out rebounded and hustled. ISU attacked us and forced our bigs to come out and play defense---we didn't. A match up is not about the players but also about schemes. When you force Holton and Williams out from the rim, it creates easy shots. To me, that was a match up issue. Same with Baylor, they rammed it down our throats in the middle--we didn't stop it ---3 TIMES.

Just messing with you Diehard. But, Georgia St should never been able to make a desperation shot town that game. As I have repeatedly said, every team has weaknesses. You have to exploit their weaknesses. Some teams are pretty solid, and the difference between winning and losing is razor thin.

When playing a team like BU, the difference in the game can be a matter of making one or two plays.

BU played a fairly healthy WVU team in the first of the three meetings. WVU played poorly in that first meeting.

WVU played poorly a few other times this year... at ISU, at Texas and at OU.

Poor performance doesn't infer a match up issue.

I can't that I agree 100% BB because poor performance has got to be caused by something. If that were the case, then every loss by every team had nothing to do with the winning team--it was just that the losing team performed bad. mmm that just don't sound right. Most losses are created by the scheme or personnel of the other team.

Some match ups are bad when the opponent is really good. Like I have said, UK would be a bad match up for WVU.

WVU destroyed OU at home in the first meeting. Was WVU a bad match up for OU? OU destroyed WVU in the rematch. Was OU a bad match up for WVU?

Texas, ISU, OU, BU were not bad match ups. Each of these schools lost to teams with similar players and size to WVU.

Without Staten and Browne, WVU was in position to beat BU in their last meeting. Were the mistakes made at games' end the result of a match up issue? Following the logic of BU being a match up problem...playing without 2 of its best, most productive members... the game should have been a blowout.
