According to reports, Detroit DC Teryl Austin has been named defensive coordinator.

There is no information about how many diamonds the 2019 Super Bowl rings will contain.

In all honesty, it's probably a really good move. The guy has a lot of experience and when he was working with talent, he had a top D. His D has also been strong (generating turnovers) in an area that the Bengals have been historically weak under Pauly G.

Wonder if he's been informed of team policy that prohibits the best player from playing if they play the same position as an overpriced "Marv" veteran.

He's joined Gruden in Oakland. Now they have an overrated DC to go along with an overrated HC.

I actually really like the Austin hire. Those defensive rankings are deceiving. By all intents and purposes, he’s a tremendous coach. He turned Darius Slay and Glover Quin into Pro Bowlers. Had the 2nd ranked defense in the NFL before the Lions started losing guys like Suh to FA.

When the Lions had the personnel, Austin got the most out of that defense. He won’t have a talent deficiency in Cincinnati. I think he’s the perfect coach to tap into some of the potential being left on the field by the manila scheming and soft zone ways of Paul Guenther.
