Jalen Green, the #1 prospect by ESPN has decided to bypass college and enter the draft. And his choices even if he had decided to go, wouldn't have changed the college landscape. The contribution by Edwards and Wiseman this year was a negligible.
I don't know who implemented one-and-done in 2006, whether it was the NBA or college basketball, or a combination, but in retrospect I think it has hurt college basketball significantly.
In the 10 years from prep-to-pros to one-and-done it was still fairly rare to see guys leave who wouldn't get drafted, especially if they played for good teams, and kids truly wanted to play for the college.
In 2020, I even feel like some of the upper class all-americans are only there because they feel like they have to be.
Assessment of one-and-done in the 14 years since we've had it?
