Felix has not looked good the last few weeks.

Thinking he might've just about run his course. He'll Beverly good, but his days as elite are about gone imo. Too bad he was wasted on Seattle.

Gallo is soooo slow. If pitch wasn't a bouncer he could have been thrown out a second.

  • Play your best players. That is the solution to the Choo dilemma. Choo either is RF or DH. Doubt if Gomez sits. Maybe platoon Maz and Gomez some. Lot of time to even see if this comes into play

I was thinking that myself. He has pitched a lot of innings for Seattle. His first 2 full seasons were over 190 and then 8 years straight of over 200 innnings. It may be catching up to him.

Jamey Newberg offered these interesting tidbits on Friday.

Jose Altuve is a .341/.401/.551 (.952 OPS) hitter this season. He’s a legitimate MVP candidate.

Against Texas, in a reasonably significant 83 plate appearances, he was a .282/.386/.493 (.878) hitter.

A dropoff. Not a drastic one, necessarily, but Houston’s best player wasn’t at his best against Texas.

But how about the team’s second- and third-best players?

Carlos Correa (.271/.361/.453 [.814]) against the league: .159/.266/.188 (.454) in 79 trips against the Rangers.

George Springer (.254/.359/.455 [.814]) against the league: .165/.267/.342 (.608) in 90 times up against Texas.

No he is not soooo slow He has above average speed for a guy that size. Beltran is sooo slow. Ha. We should do a ranking of current Rangers rankings via speed. Gallo is ahead of catchers, Mitch, Mazara and at least close to Profar as well as the obvious.

Tonight we have Raul Alcantara, who I can only assume was working at one of the concession stands in Oakland at the start of the season, and his 7.27 ERA facing off against Yu Darvish. I know we tend to play down to our opponents and fare poorly against terrible pitching. But if we don't win this one, then I just totally give up trying to figure out baseball.

Vegas has us as -230 favorites, which is the highest odds for us to win they've had the entire season. I will be there in person, so I sure hope Alcantara's ERA and the Vegas odds both prove to be accurate predictors.

For his age Gallo is a turtle. Did you see him steal second? Was just happy it wasn't a fastball that struck out Roogie.
