I'm getting really tired of Ian Desmond taking perfect strikes down the middle. Opposing pitchers have begun grooving him a center square fastball as the first pitch of every at-bat because they know he's taking. I'd love to see him walk up there in the 9th and just obliterate the first pitch he sees (provided of course that it's not way out of the zone).

Better defense than Profar in the OF, and that's about it.

Desmond really, really needs to start this inning off by getting on. It will set the tone for the whole inning and put Madson and the A's on the defensive. If he can get on, I like our chances with Beltran, Beltre, and Odor up next.
