In the AL East I always rooted for anyone to do battle with the Yankees and no one was screaming louder when Dave Roberts was coming home but that's really starting to change now.

I think it changed when they won in 2007. From that point on, it seems like the team culture and fanbase has a lot more in common with the Yankees than they do with the scrappy, underdog anti-Yankees that they used to be.

Now they're Yankees Lite: All the arrogance with a fraction of the success.

I also think their front office is particularly seedy when it comes to moving personnel.

A couple of decades ago, I studied in Boston and went to a bunch of games at Fenway. I really liked the history and whatnot and became a Red Sox fan. Even after I moved back to Ohio, I'd still try to make it to Fenway once a year - usually to catch a Yankees/Red Sox game. I was pumped after 2014, but after 2007, it just started to seem way to Yankee for me.

Did you turn in your pink hat or did you hold onto to it just in case you want to jump back on the bandwagon?

Me on a Boston bandwagon? Surely you jest. It was never more than a case of the lesser of two evils for me. Forever that was the Red Sox. Now? Not so sure.

Aren't you supposed to be figure skating, old timer?

Nope, I'm just slummin. Been clearing some much snow in the last month I will probably take most of the week off.

I think you misunderstood, Rex. I jumped off the bandwagon when they started winning and resembling the Yankees. I suppose if they go back to sucking ass for 80+ years, I might consider getting back on.

The guy was abysmal last year. Clay Bulchholz was literally one of the statistically worst pitchers in the league.

The Cubs kick ass and I might be a shameless bandwagoner. Now THAT would be exciting to see.

Seems like every year he's either injured or ineffective.

How you been, Carnzo?

So, to summarize this thread:

Hammer is a jealous hater whose parents were violated by the Red Sox in 1968
