Anyone think Nix and Tuitt wish they had stayed

I think another year, without injuries, would have moved both these guys into the first round. Too bad, because it would have had a huge impact on our defense this year as well.

I think both will go in the 2nd round, so I doubt it. I think the only thing that hurt Nix is the injury and who's to say it doesn't happen again next year. I can't fault a guy that is going to get drafted in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd round for leaving.

I don't disagree, but I think that there is a big difference in money between a top half of the first round and a mid second round pick. I think both of these guys could have been top 20 picks without the injuries. Yes, they risk additional injuries, but Tuitt's problem was due to him going into 2013 about 20 pounds too heavy.

All true but with the rookie wage scale it's really about the 2nd contract which you can get too early if you aren't drafted in the first round.

u beat me to it. If both stayed both would of 100% been a 1st rd next year and maybe top 15 picks. They were told wrong info. Kelly told them to stay but they didn't want to listen.

Yeah they would easily have been 1st rounders if they came back but they will both be 2nd rounders so it's hard to fault them plus the real money is in the 2nd contract now and you get to that one year earlier if you are drafted in the 2nd round.

I recall having a conversation with a USC fan about who would have the first player and more players drafted in the 1st round. Not only did Notre Dame beat them on the field but in the NFL draft has well.

I agree it was a bad call but if he plays like we know he can he'll get to his 2nd deal quicker.

Also throw in Niklas. Would of been one of the top TE next years. Could of been a 1st to early 2nd rd pick.
