Anyone installed a remote start themself?

Wifey got a great deal on her new Explorer. It has everything except a remote start and the heathens at the dealership want hundreds of dollars. Fuck that I say. I looked on Amazon and a highly rated remote start for a new Explorer is under 50 bucks!

Has anyone done this? I wonder if it's a potential clusterfuck or an easy operation??

I don't have a lot of experience specific to this, but I would recommend looking into the security of whatever system you choose compared to a few other options if possible. The last thing you want is to put it in and have your car stolen.

True. I guess through the security system is how you hook it up. But 99% of the time down here I don't even lock my car. I've never locked the Waggy yet and I always leave the keys in it!

Looks like nobody has done it...and it's something that could get messy. So, I guess I'll have the pros handle this one.
