Hi everyone, I've been using Microsoft Edge recently and noticed I get logged out a lot for no reason on the browser. Never had an issue with this on Google Chrome? Any thoughts?
Yeah the only reason I'm using Edge is because at my College they have a web filter applied to Chrome, but not Edge. Sportshoopla is blocked on Chrome, unfortunately. So I'm trying my best to use Edge. I'm hoping they apply a fix for this soon, it does get really annoying.Who uses edge?
Can't say I have any real experience using edge with the hoop, but I can say the site overall has been less than stable for several months. I have all sorts of time where the site simply comes up unavailable sometimes for 10 or more minutes, but usually just a minute or two. Then eventually it works. Never been logged out though.
MS can keep trying to pimp Edge as the next level browser, but every time I attempt to give it a solid test I find multiple sites it simply doesn't work well with. I would use IE before Edge and IE is a total piece of crap.
Haven't tried Firefox yet, but probably will next. Also, its usually after about 5 minutes each, sometimes less and sometimes more.Ouch, have you tried any other browsers such as FF, Opera, etc?
How long does it take to get logged out? Is it a steady amount of time?
As I quickly realized when I typed this, all or most .exe files are blocked also when you try to download them. Yeah, the college is very strict on web content.Haven't tried Firefox yet,
I'm currently in a queue to chat with Microsoft support, if that doesn't work, then I will try Internet Explorer for sure. What I would take away from that link I posted is:
This has happened with Edge pretty much since it launched and appears to still exist for a random set of users to this day.
It doesn't happen to everyone and seems to be worse for some than others.
Sometimes resetting windows (complete reinstall) fixes it.
No one there has any other solution that actually fixed it for them outside of a reset.
At least you know it isn't just you, nor something specific to this site. It would seem there is a bug in Edge's handling of site cookie credentials in some way. I would do more searching online to see if others on different forums have found some work around for it or some way to reset Edge without reinstalling the OS.
Wow. "Our product sucks. Give us a 150 bucks maybe we can fix it". Jeez. Like WH said, maybe try IE.@WizardHawk look at this... View attachment 164500
She wanted me to pay $150 to keep looking into it? Yeah, no thanks.
