Watched the game with a some fellow alums as well as others who are football junkies. And we all agreed, last nights team looked exactly like Carroll's Trojans from the 2000's. The Pete Carroll Trojans always had a knack to show up in the big game and route teams who pre-game thought this was gonna be the heavy weight fight of the year. For the exception of the Texas loss. Look at the resume. All were 28+ pt blowouts against (at the time) top 10 teams. Auburn twice, Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech. During his tenure Pete went 4-0 vs the SEC outscoring them, 167-48 home and away.

  1. 3-4 guys flying to the ball.
  2. Sound tackling
  3. Multiple turnovers.
  4. Extremely physical hitting.
  5. Run game to set up the pass. (only difference he used multiple TE's instead of the traditional I)
  6. Tried a couple of bubble screens.
  7. Huge 3rd down conversions
  8. going on 4th if necessary (swear Pete almost went for it 100% of the time at USC)
He started this WinForever thing back in L.A. but I can see the signature clearly when the Seahawks play.
