Not going to happen too much bad blood between Nebraska and Texas as it is. There is no way Nebraska is going to stomach what amounts to a Texas cast off pride will not let them do it.

The bad blood between Texas and Nebraska is between Dodds and Osborne. Mack was always very complimentary of Nebraska and their fans whenever Texas beat them. Even in 2010 Mack called Nebraska fans the best in the nation when hatred was very high between the two schools. To be honest, it wouldn't be a bad hire for a 4 or 5 year stint. The guy can build a program. He will get all the boosters going in the same direction, improve facilities, raise shit tons of money, and recruit like a crazy man. Eventually, his message will become stale and if he misses on hiring assistants you will not do well because he doesn't do X's and O's very well. For a short stint to repair their program, you could do worse.

I have never heard of bad blood between Mack Brown and Nebraska. If the choice is Pelini or Mack Brown, Mack Brown is who I would want if I was a big wig at Nebraska

There is rumors here in Lincoln that we are looking at Mack Brown...

I don't like the idea though...The guy is the current HC @ Texas...A program that gets their pick of the litter when it comes to recruiting. He is surrounded with a successful atmosphere and he can't get the job done. How the hell is he going to be successful in Nebraska without those perks? Nebraska has top facilities, and everything a football program needs to be successful. We just live in no mans land. That's our problem, recruiting....Mack Brown is terrible at X's and O's. I also don't know how well of a 'recruiter' he is, he fucking coached Texas, not hard to recruit there.

for the Mack scenario because he lives in Houston
and knows how inept Mack is as a coach.
However, he says that certain BMDs at Nebraska
believe that Pelini is not the answer and that he
cannot recruit because he projects such a "jerk"
image. The thinking is that hiring Mack would
instantly solve the recruiting problem because no
one has better relationships with Texas high
school coaches and could better develop
relationships with high school coaches in other
areas. No other high profile hire could solve their
recruiting issues the way that Mack could. NU
just has to insure that Mack gets very strong
coordinators.

pointed out that it would probably come down to

ESPN Radio host Paul Finebaum reported on his
show on Tuesday that while Brown's immediate
future will be the immediate focus on the national
media, there could be news in the near future on
Saban and his future with Alabama. "You're also
going to hear a lot more about Nick Saban
because he has a contract on his desk that's
been there since Friday - and today is Tuesday,"
he said. Finebaum did not cite a source for the
information.
