Went to the Super Bowl last year and was blissfully in the concourse buying beer, etc. through the entire halftime show. Saved me from seeing two moments as horrible as that last offensive play by the Seahawks instead of just one that evening.

That horrible moment made me a lot of shekels.

You won't get Metallica since they've been pretty clear they want to get paid for what they do. Last year the NFL said it will be asking performers to pay them for the privilege of playing at the SB halftime show. I can't see any supergroups or top level performers wanting to pay to play. You might get some up and coming band pay to play so they can get the massive exposure that comes with the gig but that's about it.
