Athletics outfielder Ramon Laureano was suspended for 80 games after testing positive for Nandrolone, a performance-enhancing substance.
Yikes. This will certainly be a big blow to the Athletics offense -- and to their playoff chances -- as Laureano has been a key cog of their offense all season while playing tremendous defense in the outfield. The 27-year-old finishes his 2021 campaign hitting .246/.317/.443 with 14 homers, 39 RBI and 12 stolen bases in 88 games.
Anyone that is caught with illegal substances in their systems now is foolish or just plain stupid. Not really sure which category Ramon falls into, but I'm sure Billy Beane won't be happy with him at all.
