This is the best news we could have asked for. Ameer is underrated nationally.

If Ameer gets 1,000 yards rushing in 2014 he'll become the only back in Husker history to have 3 1,000 yard seasons in a career. Pretty elite.

Can he do it in 6 straight seasons though? That's the question.

Not to shit all over this thread, but BA/BS Degrees nowadays aren't cutting it. I'm having a tough time finding a job with quality money/location....most these damn places want me to get a damn Masters at the least. I'm fucking burnt out of school. Just graduated and successfully made it through UNL with no dept....if I get a masters i'll be in dept.:bullshit:

I wish I was born 20 years earlier when a degree was a bit more prestigious.:bawling:

I'm glad he came back hope he still has a long nfl career. The key in the off season is get newby Taylor n cross ready for 2015 when AA is gone

I'm glad Ameer decided to stay. I also think Newby is going to be a damn good back as long as he doesn't get chased away like a few other backs have been recently.

Well "a few other backs" didn't like Coach Brown's no-nonsense approach. Only the best rise to the top for a coach like that because he demands that you be a man.

also, Nebraska now hasn't had a player declare for the draft early since either 2006 or 2012…pretty amazing
yea, a lot of people would probably say something else about that. a lack of talent, a lack of Bo making guys elite, systems that don't allow anyone to stand out.

oh, but not me. I'm just saying someone else probably would.

That's odd because when Brown was an assistant under Osborne, I certainly don't remember running backs "running" away from Nebraska like they have since Mad Dog has been here. I highly doubt that Brown didn't expect a back to be a "man" while Osborne was coach.

Regardless, I'm glad that Mad Dog didn't chase Ameer away also.

Chase Ameer away?

Since Bo has been here he's had several players who had the opportunity to leave early.....

Suh, Crick, Prince, Lavonte, Ameer........

They all chose to stay. If there is one thing that Bo does well it's create great relationships with his players and staff. They all love playing for Bo.

You forget that we have to criticize Bo for everything. If a player chooses to leave early it's because they can't stand playing for "mad dog". If they stay it's because we don't have enough talent for players to leave early :L

I assume that was aimed at zorbie?

There are a number of reasons for a player to leave early. Home sick, depth chart, grades, disciplinary and of course the NFL.

Regarding the talent issue on players going early to the NFL.

Suh - HWSNBN recruit. Probably could have left after his junior year, but wasn't much on the radar. Won all of his awards his senior year.

Crick - HWSNBN recruit. Suh made him look good. Huge drop off after Suh left.
No major awards. I don't know that he was ready to leave early.

Prince - HWSNBN recruit. Not on any awards watch lists his junior year.

Lavonte - Juco transfer. Only 2 years at NU. Not ready after junior year.

Abdullah - Not really highly rated for a NFL pool that's chock full of RB's.

So 3 of those weren't even Bo recruits, and one was a 2 year Juco transfer.

Other than Ameer are there some other Bo high school recruits since 2008 that can go into this "talent choosing to stay" debate?

I'll be damned.....

We have had no players developed into NFL material in the past 6 seasons and yet somehow we posted 9 or 10 wins each of those seasons.

Incredible coaching going on there or somethin

Sometimes you remind me of a chick the way you distract from the issue at hand and

The subject is "leaving early" for the NFL.
