All it is was a cash grab - it decimated the WCHA and CCHA which had Anchorage and Fairbanks in them. It's great to see teams like North Dakota and Duluth flourish and seeing the Minnesotas and Michigans struggle. I understand why it happened but I'm just living in the past. I used to go to the College Hockey showcase when I was younger which featured Minnesota and Wisconsin playing Michigan and Michigan State playing each other over Thanksgiving. I thought it was a cool novelty then and that's what it should have stayed.
