I mean, Winnipeg fans are pretty savvy...I'm sure they know who Kane is.

Doesn't see like much of a story...

I'm just curious - If Tanner Glass becomes an instant demi-god in Winnipeg, how does their leading scorer and franchise player have a negative stigma already.
he was nothing but a hard-working kid (with great hands) during his time with the Vancouver Giants. I don't recall hearing any behavioural / attitude problems at all from his time here, or in Atlanta. Though they set the bar pretty high for athletes getting into trouble in ATL.

I read the comments on the story, and someone said he had a really bad behavioral history with the Giants. Watching him play, though, he doesn't strike me as a villain-type, so I don't know where it's all coming from.

Sometimes, a person has one bad moment, but has it in front of the worst possible person, and that person spreads and exaggerates the story until it comes to define the person in question. Maybe he screwed up once or twice, and whoever saw it decided to spread the word and make it worse and worse.

I just mean....there's not actually any substance or real accusations. There's a hint about an "altercation" at a bar but they don't say anything about what happened?

It is very intriguing how much he's disliked...but they're intense hockey fans, so his disappointing point totals probably affect that as well.

yeah I just don't know where that comes from. I don't remember anything like that, and the fact that he was a leader of a Don Hay coached team for his entire junior career makes it even more unlikely. Hay will not put up with silly stuff on or off the ice. If a player was a problem, he'd be shipped out (it's happened to a couple of players from Giants while Hay has been in charge).

oh well. maybe jstew can chime in. he seems to have inside scoop on alot of local things.

He's 20 years old and on pace for 30 goals. If they're disappointed by his production, they probably should reevaluate their assessment.

I said that because of the note that he had been benched twice this season...

might as well drop this in here:

Vancouver Giants this weekend had 3 games in 3 nights, missing their top forward (Gallagher) top defenseman (Musil) and top goalie (Morrison), and playing a 15 year old call-up in net for the last two games.... took 5 of 6 points.
none of the three teams were powerhosues, but that is damned impressive. Oh, and the middle game of the 3 in 3 was a road game (Kelowna)
