We can debate all day about whether or not he was kidding or whether or not he just sucked last night. What we can't debate is the fact that if he hadn't said what he said, this conversation isn't happening. So for that alone, Wainwright gets to wear a dunce hat for the next three days. It was an idiotic comment that cast a shadow over what was otherwise a great night for baseball.
