Adam Oates joins the Devils' coaching staff

Oates, who fills the role of “offensive” assistant coach that Maclean talked about at his introductary news conference, joins a staff that also includes assistant Larry Robinson and goaltending coach Chris Terreri. The Devils’ power play will be one of the areas he will be expected to help out.

I really like all the former players on the Devils' staff. Oates will have more talent to work with in New jersey than he did in Tampa Bay.

Heh...If memory serves, Oates was pretty good in the face-off circle as well. Too bad the Oilers took Hall instead of Seguin, I would have liked to have seen a Hall and Oates reunion in Beantown.

I've always liked Adam Oates. He was one hell of a center during his time in Boston and I was sad to see him get traded. I wish him well as a coach. I'm sure he'll do nothing but good things for the Devils
