As it stands now, Webb is proving he is the #1 of this staff. He has put up back to back 1-2-3 innings after that #shitshow of a 1st, and he has done that while still struggling with his mechanics. Dude is a gamer.

He acts like a petulant child during the games. He clearly knows the game, he just refuses to access that knowledge-base while the game is being played.

He has said himself it's more of a lack of emotional control (which as you say is childish). The game starts and he loses his bearings emotionally and forgets what he knows about the game.

Webb threw 45 pitches in that disastrous 1st inning. He's thrown a total of 33 pitches in the 3 innings that followed. The dude is awesome.
Now if the rest of the offense would just wake up.
