get yer head outta yer ass....the politics forum is that way, dummie------>>>
StinkyBedfeet...are you innately stupid, or is it just happenstance, or maybe a willful thing on your part??
(purely rhetorical)
I was thinking of who else might've been better than that. So, I figured, Barry Bonds, duh. Checked the wRC+ leaderboards.... Yup.Harper. Another 2 HRs.
.338/.467/.667/1.134/204
Mid September and a two hundred and fucking four OPS+. That's just sick.
There are only 19 players in the history of MLB that have had a better OPS+ for a season - six of them played in the 1800's and another seven played before they let black guys in the league. That leaves six players in the last seventy years that have had better seasons than 22-year-old Bryce Harper.
Can the mets beat the dodgers in a series with kershaw & Zach going in 3 of the 5 games?
Oh, you crazy Mexicans these days!I know, but posting the explanation lets yoga know he just swallowed the hook.

2015 Harper ---> 203 wRC+
2002 Bonds ----> 244 wRC+ (best, all-time)
2nd best all-time (who else?), Babe Ruth at 239. The next 4 spots, Bonds, Bonds, Ruth, Ruth. Then Ted Williams (naturally... no pun intended).
Other recent wRC+ machines:
'94 Bags, '98 McGwire (70 home runs), and the Big Hurt in '94 all had 205. Bonds has 4 seasons better than that clip.
Hell of a list to be the next name.Here's the list of guys with 204 OPS+ or better seasons and they year(s) they did it.
The irony hard wired into your comment is fucking palpable.
