The only exceptions would be the 2011 Mavericks and 2016 Warriors.

But, the 2011 Maverick were arguably the best team in basketball that season. People forget that Dirk Nowitzki missed the entire month of January and the team was 3-12. With Dirk, they were dominant and easily would have had the #1 overall record by a big margin.. And they SWEPT KOBE BRYANT (4-0) in the playoffs earlier that year.
