Might make a good left tackle in college, but he better be an athletic freak or he will get beat often by smaller DE's in the NFL. Like Gooch said, those knees will get blow out in no time short. I would be interested in seeing if he might be able to lose some weight and play TE if he has the hands.

Damn, can you imagine DB's bouncing off of him lumbering up the middle of the field? :omg:

Any HS kid whose 7' 2" can get a basketball scholarship to a D-I college so why he is risking injury playing football?

You said gooch.:laugh3:

I agree it would be interesting to see him try TE. Why not just throw jump balls every play to him?

He could block FGs pretty well possibly too?

Yah, switch to basketball before it is too late. Or he will be in a wheelchair before he blinks again.

Not to take anything away from this kid, but is there a height range where an OT is too tall? Similar to where a DT can be too tall leverage wise?

I would think leverage has to be hard to win at that height..

I was thinking just the opposite. For a 7' 2" HS guy, he's not skinny at all. This kid needs to be lifting and drinking weight-gain shakes all day getting ready to score 50 a game in basketball and impress the scouts.

If you can stay low and use those arms to keep popping the DE, you should be tough as hell to get around though.

People are stating that he is playing the wrong sport. But perhaps he doesn't have the skills/abilities in other sports. Also, to answer the TE question...perhaps he doesn't have adequate pass catching ability and/or speed and/or jumping ability.

But even if he doesn't have such skills, he can still probably earn a fortune working as a sports entertainer (pro-wrestler) for the WWE.

But, prior to a potential WWE opportunity arising.....if he can earn a scholarship to play O-line in order to get a college degree...then more power to him! Whatever he does, I would also recommend that he pursue a minor in drama at college, just in case he considers the field of entertainment as an option (if he doesn't have adequate athletic skills).
