Suck it, Tee-Ballers!
The Mets youthful brigade of fireballers are not only shutting down opposing offenses, but they are almost single-handedly providing their team's offensive power themselves.
And who can blame them? You pitch yerassoff for 7, 8 innings, and for what? For Duda to whiff on countless breaking balls in the dirt, or for Cuddyer to GIDP in consecutive innings when there is miraculously a runner on base.
Yesterday the long-awaited MLB debut of Steven Matz did not disappoint. The young Long Islander pitched a brilliant 7 2/3 innings, only giving uo two solo gopherballs, and went 3-3 at the plate while driving in 4 runs. He set or tied three team records for most hits/rbi at any position, and became the 11th player in MLB history to drive in four runs in his first major league game.
