Mason Williams is on his way to Oakland to join up with the Yankees.

That's a pretty good indication that Aaron Hicks will be placed on the disabled list after suffering an Achilles tendon injury on Thursday night. Williams, a former top-100 prospect, has batted just .243/.289/.275 in 59 games this season at the Triple-A level and probably won't hold any fantasy relevance with New York.

Red Sox now 4-4 when Sale gives up 2 or fewer runs (has gone 7+ innings in all those starts). They are 6-0 when he gives up 3+

He has been okay. 98 ERA+ overall with the 6th most innings in the AL.

This. Porcello was due for some regression, but he has a .366 BABIP allowed on the season. He's giving up a lot of hard contact, which is concerning, but I would still expect his BABIP to regress. His FIP and xFIP are still decent (3.96/4.22), if unspectacular. I'm not terribly worried about Porcello's future performance, but he looks more like the ~3 fWAR pitcher he was in Detroit than the 5.2 WAR pitcher he was in 2016.

There have certainly been some frustrating performances all around by the Red Sox, but they have the 3rd best record in the AL. You'd think the sky was falling.

They've lost 4 Sale starts. Sale's line in those starts:

30.2 IP, 7 ER (2.05 ERA), 40 Ks, 2 walks, 24 hits (.848 WHIP)

Sale has gotten screwed a few times, but he also has won starts vs MIN and CWS where he did not turn in a QS... so... eh... I feel the pain in the outings like Philly, but these things tend to even out in the end.
