I thought I would start this roster thread because I've been seeing roster comments on a few different threads and thought it would be easier to keep it all here as we move to the 53 man cut.

Tell me what you think, I can update the OP posts as we go. (Sorry I had to put it in two posts due to the size since I added all the Players details as well)

Also, I think there are only 89 players listed here, so I am missing one player, which I have no idea who, or where I can find that out. Any help would be appreciated. Oh and if you see any mistakes, let me know and I'll make the change.

Vita - You are missing one of the bright spots of OTA's and Minicamp:

WR - Mike Thomas

Brian Randolph may be the new version of McDonald at safety this year only a little more cerebral. Hits like a sledge hammer and after a year of being injured, this may be the year for him to really emerge after nobody being able to evaluate him with the early injury last year. Cody Davis, another Fisher guy, may be the odd-man out!

With an eye on the LBs, Ebukam is a beast and may be the new Olgetree. McKinzy, Thompson, Northrup, and Forrest had a great OTAs! All could be keepers if what they did in the OTAs progresses.

Suddenly, or maybe quietly, we are now chocked full of talent with the TEs and WRs. Austin is going to sit for at least the first half the season. That leaves, Higbee, Everett, Mundt, Cooper, Kupp. Spruce, Reynolds, Thomas, Roberts, and Woods to fight it out for 9 spots. Wow, we have some talent!!

I like our new badass O-lineman and this bunch has the potential to finally get out of the hole as being one of the league's worst.

Everything I have read indicates Eldrenkamp has a good chance of making the final roster. The way it stands now, I see the final ten being: Sullivan, Eldrenkamp, Saffold, Havenstein, Wichmann, Kozan, Whitworth, Brown, Donnal, Murphy.

These guys could really be great with the new O-line coach and now that we rid ourselves of the perennial screw-up and chemistry-killer in GRob!

I agree on your numbers. They may adjust your categories by a player or two, but you pretty much have the numbers correct Vita!

BTW, Hekker can also double as an emergency QB and do a damn good job at it, if both Goff and Mannion ever go down in the same game.

:agree:

However I'm sure he doesn't get into the offensive playbook much and with no reps, it would be a tough spot for him. I'd like to see a QB on the PS but without a candidate on the 90 man roster, if McSnead goes that route, it will be someone they pick off of waivers as teams cut it down to 53.

Just an interesting side note on the QBs. From what I have been reading, Goff is near 230lbs and Mannion is approaching the 240lb mark. Gettin' bigger and hopefully BADDER!

On the D-Line. Outside of Donald, Brockers, Easley, and Westbrooks, the four or five guys fighting for the three remaining spots will be probably: Smart, Trinca-Pasat, Longacre, Fox, Purcell, and maybe Price. Although because of his build, Price may end up being one of those tweener players we have a few of since the Snisher days that may send him over to the LBs for continuing evaluation.

Here is the off season nutshell for the roster as it appears today...

The Rams' roster was at its maximum of 90 players as of Thursday night. Of those players, 34 were not there when the 2016 season ended. When the 2017 season begins, the Rams expect to have as many as six new starters on offense and three new starters on defense, not to mention three returning starters transitioning to new positions.

Yep Vita. And we will have talented players who understand the systems on both sides of the ball and who want to win because they will have to earn the right to play as McVay stated: Competition will be used to find the best 11 players on both sides of the ball. This sentiment was also corroborated by Phillips.

As much as I dislike Pete, that's what seems to work well in Seattle.
