Tremendous piece of work that will endure for generations.

Engineered by Alan Parsons.

Released the same year I graduated from HS.

Great article and read….

Same here. Arguably the best year of my life. I got into them with Meddle, but didn't care for Obscured By Clouds which I also bought. So I wasn't really looking forward to their next until my buddy's older bro bought it and played it for us. I think it's their best..

Arguably not even Pink Floyd's greatest album
True. It's definitely their most popular as far as wider appeal from their previous stuff goes, and it's great no doubt (The Wall notwithstanding)
But I honestly like their earlier works much better. Atom Heart Mother, Ummagumma, Obscured by Clouds, & Meddle, are all perhaps equally great in their own respect, if not more in some cases...but DSOTM was, and still is phenomenal.

I'm probably too young for this conversation but I think 'Wish You Were Here' is my favorite album. Hard to go wrong with anything from the Wall or earlier, though.

My favorite is The Wall live 1980-81 recorded at original Earls Court in London. So much better than the studio album.

Wish You Were Here is a great album. I have it on vinyl and CD.
