another yr of awful hitting underway
I dont think the trend is going anywhere. Time to bring on the pitch clock and after that is in place for awhile then look at the game
How would a pitch clock help the offense??
If you want to help offense, ban shifts, or lower the mound
I think the idea of banning shifts is ridiculous. Are fielders going to have X's that they have to stand on until the ball is hit?
Defenses employ shifts only when hitters only hit to one side of the field - they need to learn to go the other way.
Also dont take my posts as saying I think they should ban shifts... I dont think you need to help offense. The shift to lower scoring is helping with game times. But at some point it could be detrimental meaning you'll lose viewor attendance cause your average joe fan thinks pitchers duels are boring..... Im not avg joe baseball fan. I love a well played defensive/pitched game.
Bet the shutout spree ends rather quickly.
