LB Scott McKillop, WRs Kevin Jurovich, Tyler Beiler, OLs Donovan Edwards, Nick Howell, RB Seth Smith, P Sam Paulescu.

Too bad for Scott, he was a favorite of mine.

I figured he would make the roster as the 4th ILB behind Willis, Bowman, and Grant.

Who's the 4th ILB gonna be?

Does McKillop have PS eligibility? I'm afraid he doesn't as he was active most (all?) games in his rookie year. That's just a rough break for him. Serious injury in his second camp and he's done. Brutal. I think he's got a good chance of catching on somewhere else, but I had hoped we would find a way to keep him. Somewhat ironic that our former 7th rounder took his spot. It'd be funny if McKillop finds his way back onto the roster at some point a couple years down the road.

I don't think there are any real surprises there. McKillop was up against some tough competition.

Agreed. I thought McKillop was the most likely to bounce due to injury and not enough practice.

I think Krstick is making the better case for the "4th ilb" role... if we need 4....

I liked kristick from last year and hope he makes it. But with seeley on the staff he may vouch hard for Castanzo.

Im not really sure actually, havent really noticed much from either. But harbaugh likes his player to be more than 1 dimensional, Kristick has looked solid at LB not sure about ST. And castanzo supposedly is a ST ace, but i havent seen his LB play much.

Ouch, I wonder how much of a ST ace Costanzo is? If that's the case, I can see him making it over Kristick.

McKillop did not have a chance. He was an obvious cut for the Niners. It's evident against the Texans that he is still far away from being back from his injuries. He was wearing a bulky brace last Saturday and it hampered is range of motion. This might scare some teams away...

Yeah, I agree. Scott deserved a better fate, and I believe he would have realized a better fate had it not been for his injury.

It is a tough time learning a new system and getting enough reps but this is where coaching and prepping layers can find us surprises go 49ers!

I just read they cut McKillop because they didn't want to be on the hook for his knee. Not sure his salary, all of a couple hundred thousand, scares the accountants that much. I mean he's not on the books for 40 Million like J Russel or anything.

And the shortened time the coaches had to look at him due to the lockout.

Good points, '83. I think Costanzo has outplayed Kristic on ST's, but I think you are right with your LB assessment.
