Usually having the best player is better than have 2nd and 3rd.

But I think that Trae is only a tiny bit ahead of Mitchell and Garland. I put Murray a bit behind the other 3 but I also haven't watched him much.

No shade on Dejounte.

Kid is a pretty good two way player.

But, he put up numbers on a bad team.

If he can continue to do that while winning?

Bruh.

He is a great compliment to Trae.

Is great at the thing that Trae blows at the most....

Not sure why you think Favors will still be available if/win Rob figures out that your roster is absolute GARBAGE, unless Lebron, Davis, Nunn and Walker go thermonuclear in every game.

The Lakers don't want to fill the remaining spot for trade purposes.

But, also because it will cost them 7 million, with tax, to sign a vet minimum player.

They are counting pennies like some poverty franchise.

The only reason to get him would be so that AD can play more at the 4 spot.

Bryant and Jones already provide that and statistically, they are all 3 essentially the same guy.

Yeah, about the only way I see the Lakers bringing in a big at this point is if the Westbrook for Turner/Hield trade that refuses to die finally happens.

Or if someone suffers an injury that is going to keep them out for a while.

Mitchell has the chance of being a competent defender if he puts in the effort. No amount of effort is ever going to make Trae a competent defender. He will ALWAYS be a defensive target.

I hear that. That’s why Murray may help create the better pair. He helps mitigate a hole in Trae’s game. Meanwhile, you can argue that Mitchell/Garland present 2 Waldo’s that can be sought in half court playoff matchup hunting. Trae is just one Waldo. Murray isn’t that guy.

Yeah. Garland/Mitchell have the benefit of having Allen/Mobley in the paint to help them. But that backcourt is going to be hot trash defensively.

Maybe not to the extent of Allen/Mobley but Hawks have decent rim protection in John Collins and Capela.
