Nunn and Monk are young enough to get a big contract later on.

That isn’t how it works though. Especially for guys like them who don’t project to ever be more than role players.

Might not have a choice to get more than a min next go round.

Yeah I think he might see a few minutes here and there but it's basically Howard and AD at center, maybe a super small lineup with Bron at times. Gasol is pretty useless at this point.

I disagree strongly.

I don’t think you can play Howard with the starters.

When LeBron and Russ on the court together, it either has to be AD or Gasol playing 5. Put Howard out there and spacing becomes really hard.

Gasol plays 12-15 minutes a game, starting each half, then Dwight gets maybe 20-25 staggered with Bron or Russ resting.

AD is your closer as you go small for 15-20 minutes with him at 5.

I didn't mean a crazy superstar contract, more like the 8-10 million range.

Solid pickup

I’m interested in anyone who can give me a scouting report. Looks like he is a career 40% three point shooter. Decent length for a wing at 6’7’’

A guy like Nunn is as likely to be out of the league as he is to get that opportunity through.

Guards like him are a dime a dozen.

Highly skilled offensive player, not much of a defender.

Can score at all 3 levels.

Kind of like a poor man’s Tobias Harris?

Ok maybe like a homeless man. But similar skill set.

Yep. Dwight's role will likely be very similar to when they were in the bubble. Dwight has to pretty much stay chained to the paint on offense, Gasol doesn't.

I dont think either should start but did you see Gasol last year? Thought he would be used more but he wore down, he doesn’t have much left. Sure start him, but he is getting very few minutes. They could sign a big man to spread to floor if they dont have much confidence in Gasol. I honestly could see him retiring mid-season or getting injured. Maybe Howard and Gasol don’t start depending on the team, they could do that vs GS

I don’t think they want to start AD at 5, and Dwight on the court with both Russ and Bron just isn’t a good look.

So unless they sign another big with a perimeter skill set, he likely gets the nod.

Again, just for the first 5-6 minutes of each half.

Last year they had to use him more because of the injuries and Drummond struggling to find a role. This year, health permitting, he should be able to play the role he was acquired for...12-15 minutes per game as a stretch 5.

You clearly didn't watch Gasol much last season. Not saying he's great but he nailed 41% of his 3's and he is a skilled passer with James, AD and now RW.

That should have been the priority from the start!!!!

But in all seriousness, the Lakers should see if there's any room on Vogels coaching staff for him.

He played 10 mins and averaged 2 3 pt fg’s a game and that was kinda my point. Playing 10 minutes is less than a quarter. He could start but in the grand scheme of things and in the playoffs…he’s the end of bench guy whether he starts and plays 6 mins or not. Is he a good fit? Sure but he is 37 and not even close to what he was defensively. 8-10 mins? sure. I think they need one more big man bc you can’t trust those big much

He played 19mpg last season. And he averaged 2.3 treys a game, making 41%. He can stretch the floor.
