Seahawks have 141 million in cap space in2022. They could borrow by way of restructuring a few contracts to sign those two.
Damn! That's higher than I thought, plus there will be a cap spike once the new tv contracts take place.

Looks like Chris Carson and Shaquill Griffin have not been tagged so they will most likely enter free agency what is everyones thoughts?

I think Shaq Griffen and the FO will work out a contract and he'll be back. Carson I feel will be back on a 1yr prove it deal. I say that cause the cap dropped 15mil and the money he might be looking for won't be there this year.

Griffin is over rated, yep you heard me say it. Hell even Flowers had a higher pass defense grade than Griffin for a large chunk of the season. He is a solid CB but he is not as good as some team is going to pay him. Hawks will need to work on their DB's this offseason and I would not be at all shocked if they draft one with their 2nd round pick.

I would like Griffin back because he is a starting CB but i don't want to pay the price that some time will give him which will make him a top 10 paid DB when he isn't even a top 20 and maybe not a top 32. He makes some good plays but then he also lets some easy completions. Lets just say this if you could have Griffin back for a couple seasons or say Sherman plus a 3rd round comp pick in 2022 I think I know which way I would go even with a aging Sherman.

Sherman is old and slow but you know what? he was always slow. It was his ability to read and understand routes that made him good not his athletic ability which was lacking.

With the cap down 15mil for next season, a lot of these guys aren't going to get what they think they're worth so maybe there's a chance Shaq comes back on a cheaper price.

Didn't Everett from the Rams get released? He would be a nice pick up since he would know the system.

There is so much to figure out with so little in assets between the salary cap in lack of picks. For some reason Carson isn't a fan favorite and I agree in that he constantly misses around a handful of games every year but he is a good bruising back. If we let him go with no solid replacement with Rashad Penny as our lead back I think we can expect to fail on offense next season. Lets not forget the days when we were trying to run the ball with Cristine Michael and Thomas Rawls.

Penny is a talented back and the only issue he has is injury history just like Carson. Penny only got 11 carries last season because of his injury the season before. It's not like he had the worst season ever while playing 10+ games. He was also looking great in 2019 taking over for a injured Carson before he got hurt. In 2019 he had a 5.7 YPC average thats solid, 2018 he had a 4.9 YPC average, again solid. He has done more than fine when he has played but again it's the Injury issue with Penny. When Healthy he looks the part of a featured back and BOTH Carson and Penny have Injury issues. So if you wouldn't resign or want Penny as your Lead back then I would assume you wouldn't want Carson also. Yes Penny is not the power back like Carson is but he is also more explosive ( or use to be, before the ACL ). I am fine with Penny in the Backfield because he is also a better pass catcher than Carson. I loved Carson but when you realize he missed 19 games at of 64 or basically 30% of games you got to understand that even though he is a bruiser type back his body isn't strong enough to take that pounding.

I wanted Chubb so bad, Damn you Seattle!

I'm 100% against giving big second contracts to RBs, i'm 50% against a second contract for a RB at all.

Normally I agree but he's still young. 1100yds rushing and almost 400yds out of the backfield is some pretty good production.

It appears that the Seahawks are not going to make any big moves, guess they rather not kick the can down the road by restructuring contracts. Going to make for a long season, the silver lining is next season they have a ton of cap space. Still feels hard to look forward to this season and is going to make fans unhappy with the state of affair. The trade for Adams feels like a mistake as it leaves the cupboards bare for the incoming draft ( along with no cap space for FA) .
Early yet so maybe something happens.
