I'm just observing anymore. I don't know enough about the team this year to make any worth while statement about them. But I am glad to see the season get started.
John, I don't think any of the NL Central teams have enough fans on this board to create enough interest in a team board but the NL Central thread which you started long ago is still getting some activity which should increase once the season begins. I hope you are doing well!
John, I think that the team is very interesting this year. The pitching staff was greatly improved last season over the previous, and with the addition of Wade Miley could be even better this year. Of course, a lot of that depends on Raisel Iglesias and Trevor Bauer returning to 2018 form, and Sonny Gray and Luis Castillo repeating last season.
The offense should be greatly improved with the additions of Moustakas and Castellanos, and to a lesser extent Akiyama. Moustakas and Castellanos should provide Suarez with a little bit of protection, and he might have an even bigger year than last year.
The only thing that really troubles me is are they prepared for the sprint that a 60 game season is going to warrant.
If there isn't any participation, I might invite all to join redreporter.com. It's a different board and a different approach, but there's more Reds chatter there too. There is also a lot of all kinds of chatter. If you are thin-skinned, buckle up.
But if this board picks up, yeah ... this is a Reds team that can adapt, modify and overcome.
Don't care much for the rule changes. DH and the extra innings, placing a runner on 2nd base after 10. As far as the broadcast goes it sounds like they are trying to add crowd noise in the background, which I find annoying, but I guess we take the bad with the good
This season is a walking Halloween joke. Just scrap it before it turns to shit. The Marlins will become an indy league team soon. Mattingly should be sold to the Saudis for a bucket of golf balls. Fuckin' idiot.
