With court 1 getting a roof in 2019, we will have at least 2 retractable roof stadiums at 3 of the 4 GS

It sucks that Fed has to play Raonic already. That could have been the final. Murray has an easy road to the final if he can stay upright.

It would be something if Konta won the womens side. Muguruzza becomes number 1 if she makes the finals if my calculations are correct.

Some explosive matches on at the moment.

Rafa Vs Muller (Rafa down a set)
A. Zverev Vs Raonic ( Milos up 3-1)
Berdy Poo vs Thiem ( BerdyPoo up by a set)

Why does he have the nickname Poo?

Raonic/Fed.

Rematch of the 2016 semis that Raonic won in 5

They also met in the 2014 semis.

That was on the 4th of July.

I had DVRed the match, but was with the family for most of the day.

I was thinking about the match all day.

Finally at night I got home and watched it.

Reason #7771828266 why tiebreakers should decide the 5th set. In my point after 20 games then they need to go to a tiebreak in the final set if they don't want to do it following 12 games as they do at the US Open

I still like non-tiebreakers in the deciding set.

I dunno, Muller was calm the entire time and played well. He definitely outplayed Nadal. It was a really good match.

It was.

The BS they just did to Novak/Mannarino is exactly why the US Open is my favorite GS event. That was absurd.

I think the USO would have done something similar, or have done something similar in past years.

Not saying it's right, but every GS except the AO seems to screw up scheduling at some point.

Man. I watched the first set before work and I was thinking there's no way Rafa wins this match. Got to work and it was down 2-0 and I thought he was going to go down strait sets. Then it turns into an epic match. Can't wait to watch a replay. Didn't get a chance to read the comments here but the ones on ESPN were pathetic. Everything doesn't have to be Roger v Rafa. Rafa got caught sucked into a battle that nobody wants to get sucked into and he bled on the court trying to win. What else to people want from an athlete? Muller's obviously a trap match-up for anybody on grass and he brought it today. Hats off to Rafa for battling and being a participant in yet another epic match.

It was amazing to watch Rafa save so many match points in the 5th.

He used his serve well.

Venus vs Konta.

So happy Konta beat Halep. As no doubt many Brits are.

Halep played really well.

She looked a lot better on grass than I could have predicted.

She was very close.

About the women, a lot of the ones I liked lost on Monday.

Kerber lost a tough one.

Wozniacki lost a tough one.

It would have been cool to see Azarenka keep going, but she lost too.

I guess I'll root for Venus, but as has been noted before, I'd rather see Venus win the Australian Open against a pregnantless Serena, or the French Open. Because she's never won those before.

Thats what happens sometimes when athletes train like crazy their whole lives. They 180 because they dont even want to think about it again.
