We have been discussing it since last years Detroit Auto Show, when Ford unveiled it. Should be priced around $200000

I've heard it'll be double that price.
Nope. Nope. Nope.
I would be dead within a week of taking possession of that car.

I would be dead when my wife found out about me putting a deposit down
Geez, another velvet rope I can't get past.
- Buying and owning a previous Ford GT. If you currently have a previous-model Ford GT registered to you, you’ll very likely be placed much higher on the list to purchase the 2017 model.
- Buying and owning previous Ford SVT (now Ford Performance) vehicles in the past
- Be a celebrity! Ford obviously wants their cars to be seen and driven by high-profile individuals like movie and television stars and music people.
Not that I have the money for one anyhoo
When I was first driving in 1972 my parents had a big Pontiac Wagon that had 400 HP? Of course it was 1969 horsepower and seemingly different from today's horse power. And it was a whale.
I'd never driven a modern car with more than 250 HP. My 1995 SHO had 220 stock and while it was pretty quick, you'd still have to engineer some passes with run ups and stuff like that.
When I got my S55 AMG with 500 HP I damn near rammed the first car I wanted to pass because the closing speed was ridiculous. I had taken a short "run' at him then punched it to get by. The left tail light was in my gun sights before I knew it. Scared the shit out of myself.
I'm going to be visiting a buddy with an older 400HP M5 later this summer...maybe he'll let me drive it. It's old and beat up enough that he might be willing to risk me wrecking it...
If you do it will happen quickly....
Yeah, sometimes I think my little 250HP AWD SUV is going to get away from me in turns.
Should probably stay away from the wheel of an M5...
From watching Top Gear and seeing Clarkson drive various AMGs he always complained about the traction control always being on and basically making the car spin proof in most cases.
I think I've felt that in mine. Although I don't like to drive with it off, even when it is it's on. I really only notice it being off if I'm scooting from a dead stop or punching it at low speeds. Then you get the rear loose....
Well, I'd say that's probably what most people who are going to buy a new AMG want...something showy, prestigious, and powerful that is fun to drive without them having to take time away from court or the hospital to go to a driver's school to learn how to handle it. Different crowd from the typical, say, 911 or Viper buyer.
How about, since you have 2X my horsepower, we race with me doing the 1/8 mile and you doing the 1/4??
;^)
