Iowa won't lose to Villanova. They will get destroyed by Villanova. Your Iowa brethren was in here a little while back telling us how Iowa was a #1 seed. That's why lol at Iowa.

Well, during that time, ESPN, CBS, SI, Fox, BTN, etc. had Iowa 1 or 2 seed and Iowa was ranked 3rd. Iowa was also destroying everyone too, even good teams. Then February came and they became a completely different team. They were still in the games vs Indiana and destroyed Michigan, but they didn't do very good vs teams like Penn State and Illinois.

I think Iowa will lose to Villanova, but I think they will make it interesting. Don't be surprised if there's a 10-15 point lead and the team that is down comes back and ties it up and then Iowa loses. That has been Iowa's style these past few weeks. Uthoff and/or Jok will be great. Others...eh.

Nobody would have made it a game with Nova today the way they played the first half. It is what it is but if you want to pretend you knew a team was going to shoot 65% and 70% from 3 then you're just lying to yourself

Great win for Villanova. They shot very well and obviously the game didn't go quite like I expected (I did post how I thought the game would go). I have Villanova in the Final Four. I think a KU-Nova Elite 8 would be intense. That bracket is crazy to begin with.

Great season by the Hawkeyes. Tough ending.

Tough to say what went wrong.

It's usually internal strife, but with that team, I'd say some fatigue contributed to a couple of bad losses, which got into their head, and shook their confidence.

Confidence

My theory is that Iowa went up a mountain through January and then hit a plateau when February came. Every team hits that plateau or hits plateaus throughout the season, but they get back on the mountain. Iowa never really got back on the mountain.

When they were top 5, when players struggled teammates would step up. Like if Uthoff and Jok had a bad game, Gesell and Clemmons would step up. Since Feb. started, it was basically relying on Jok and Uthoff. Gesell is good in the first 80% of the game, just not the last 20%.
