I watched the first few episodes of Great News, and I can't understand why it got a 2nd season. I got halfway through the last 2 episodes and just turned it off.

I LOVE the Goldbergs. Lets me relive the 80's. Jeff Garlin reminds me of my dad. When i see garlin it reminds me of the Willy Wonka styled Sunday Ticket commercial he did.

We are on the same page with Great News. The mother/daughter relationship is flat out pathetic. How is there any humor in that!? I will admit...the only reason I even tried it was because of Briga Heelan and her amazing Booty!

I really liked her in Ground Floor, which was a much better show than Great News imo. John McGinley and Rory Scovel were also really good in that one-off.

5/11: ABC has canceled American Crime, The Catch, Dr. Ken, Imaginary Mary, The Real O'Neals, and Secrets and Lies.

I did like "The Catch" but not the other ones

That show was great. McGinley was awesome! Loved his character. Funny show.

What one-off? Sounds like I missed it.

5/12: CBS has announced its second batch of newcomers for 2017-18 (following the previously announced Big Bang Theory spinoff Young Sheldon): comedy Me, Myself and I (tracing one man's life in three time periods, played by John Larroquette, Bobby Moynihan, and a kid), Mark Feuerstein comedy 9JKL, Jeremy Piven-led crime procedural Wisdom of the Crowd, James Patterson crime novel adaptation Instinct, the self-explanatory action drama SEAL Team, and a remake of the crime series S.W.A.T. (Sounds like a bunch of crap)

5/12: Brooklyn Nine-Nine (Fox) renewed for a 5th season.

"one-off", I just meant that it only got 1, or a partial, season.

Anything with Shahi is worth a shot due to her hotness.

Mostly old people scared to turn the channel, still waiting for Carson to get back from vacation.

Probably because the new ideas they had to replace it were shit.

The chick is hot tho. At least it has that going for it.

5/14: Code Black (CBS) renewed for a 3rd season.

5/14: NBC has announced its fall schedule and 12 new shows for the 2017-18 season.

5/14: New Girl (Fox) renewed for a 7th and final season.

5/14: NBC has omitted Chicago Justice or Trial and Error from its 2017-18 lineup, though the network could still opt to renew one or both. (Chicago shows bore me. I liked Fire and PD for the first few seasons. Fire sucks! Matt and Dawson :puke:)

5/13: CBS has renewed Elementary and The Amazing Race.

5/13: The Great Indoors (CBS) canceled after 1 season. (No surprise.)

5/13: NBC has reversed its decision to cancel Timeless. The show will now return for a 10-episode 2nd season in 2018. (Updated info. Only 10? Why renew it?)

Happy to see renewed:

Code Black – a good medical drama that lacks the usual too-good-looking actors and the glaringly obvious minority checklist. It’s like every season, 1 or 2 characters die or leave. Keeps it fresh.

American Housewife – it’s like an upper-middle class version of Roseanne. It’s nice that the mother of 3 children isn’t some model-thin stick figure. Recognized her from Hell or High Water.

Goldbergs and Brooklyn 99 – two of the best comedies on TV.

Speechless – Not sure how long this one will last, but the wife and I like it.

Fresh of the Boat – one of the few family shows on TV where the Dad isn’t some weak, bumbling idiot.

Happy to see cut:
Blacklist: Redemption – ugh, gave it up after 2 episodes. Blacklist itself is wearing thin for me.

Dr. Ken – saw 3 episodes. I can’t believe it lasted this long.

Imaginary Mary – Just wasn’t funny.

Great Indoors – the concept was good, but too many characters, too much schtick

So many shows are just wearing thing for me. Blacklist, Gotham, and I’m not a fan of this story arc for Agents of Shield.

And WTH is up with American Idol? Why make such a spectacle out of canceling the show, leave it fallow for one year, then reboot it?

Imaginary Mary – Just wasn’t funny. (Stupid concept. A successful 40+ woman needing a imaginary friend to get through life. Failure. I question an adult who liked it)

Great Indoors – the concept was good, but too many characters, too much schtick

Shit!. Expand to see my response.
