I'll probably be doing some number-crunching from now until August. Maybe I am crazy? Gotta start somewhere. So all of this is fluid.

After the past month or so, I really wonder how many healthy, effective weeks Peyton Manning has left.

By the way, Joe - you interested in handling the Rankings Game? I've finally figured out a simple, better formula.

I would take over if I was allowed to create my own formulas. I was a math major I like the occasional reminder.

The new formula is just:
  • take the difference between your player's points per week and the points per week of the player actually at the ranking you gave
  • subtract that from your player's points points per week
("week" in points per week meaning weeks the player's team played)

Apparently it was such a serious injury that it affected him the previous week in Buffalo, too.

and vs the seahawks last year in the SB... whenever teams lose, excuses fly... The colts had 2 weeks to prepare for the game, they knew manning was hurt, they did not adapt well enough...

Weren't they leaning hard on C.J. and the running game for the past three or four weeks before that? I still think it has to do with the weight imbalance from that huge noggin...

 Dude, on the Dan Patrick show this morning he had some kinda bet going that his sidekick Fritzy could only speak in rhymes to that jingle. After about 20 minutes I thought my head was gonna explode. It takes a lot for me to actually WANT to listen to Stephen A. and Bayless, but that did the trick.

Biggest disagreements I have with your list:
QB Kaep is too high.
AP and Forsett too high.
I'd have Gore & McKinnon in top 30 and drop Martin and Herron.
Keenan Allen will have a bounce back, he's gotta be in the top 30 WRs drafted.

A little too early for rookies, but when we know where they go, I will easily have 4 rookies in my top 30 (they are that good). Gordon, Gurley, Coleman & Duke Johnson. Gurley is comming off injury, so I will be monitoring him over the next 6-7 months.

Thanks, but no thanks. I'm already at my limit with fantasy leagues. I have just enough already on my plate so I won't go into fantasy withdrawal. Updating the rankings game would push me into the family danger zone.

Biggest disagreements I have with your list:

Thanks for the reply. But nothing is etched in stone. It's January. But to give you a glimpse into my thinking...

  • QB Kaep is too high. > When Harbaugh let loose the reigns a little (instead of forcing him to be a pocket passer), he seemed a lot more effective. And now Harbaugh is in the Great Lake state.
  • AP and Forsett too high. > Perhaps. Can you see AP going to Buffalo with Rex Ryan? Wow. And with Kubiak staying on as the OC, I can see Forsett as the bellcow.
  • I'd have Gore & McKinnon in top 30 and drop Martin and Herron. > I'm guessing that Gore retires. If not then I'll put him back. Don't trust McKinnon - or Minny (that may be a RBBC).
  • Keenan Allen will have a bounce back, he's gotta be in the top 30 WRs drafted > Probably. His value will be reflected in my next ranking in February.

He reminds me of Gio and Ellington, but with a touch more power. If he were to land in a Baltimore or Indy, he'd be the bell cow and be an impact rookie. If he lands in a Miami or San Diego, at worst he's a quality handcuff. This rookie RB class will be one for the ages. There's a couple more that could return a decent value for where you pick them, but the landing spot is more crucial than it is for these four.

Can't say I'd argue much with what you have so far, but some interesting coaching changes. Likely to alter some early season rankings. Fox out at Denver, Rex to Buffalo, SF still looking, ATL stilling looking, CHI still looking, Manning may retire, new rookie class coming in. It will be an interesting off-season.

About Hill... the last 7 games (including the playoff loss), with Gio active, he had 122 carries for 615 yards and 5 TDs, and caught 12 of 14 targets for 56 yards. That pro-rates out to 279 carries for 1406 yards and 11 TDs, plus 27 catches for 128 yards. I think he'll end up with over 200 FF points if healthy. Apart from the fumbles Hue likes him. I figure he takes care of that, so I'd have him higher.

In those same seven games, Gio only mustered 49 FF points. 23rd seems about right.

Apart from Peyton, can't argue much with your top 10 QBs. The real question, though, is how much better 1-3 will be than 8-10. This year the top 3 ADP QBs (Peyton/Rodgers/Brees) ended up on average 70 points better than 8-10 (Ryan/Newton/Wilson).
