I'm counting 4 players based in Europe. I have a feeling this will be a draft where teams who scouted the fuck out of the Euro leagues this season will be well-rewarded for their efforts.

Here's Craig Button's rankings. He's not my favourite person, but he was pretty close with his top 10 last season (except he had Virtanen in like 50th lol):

Craig's List - Final Ranking - Article - TSN

Something tells me Noah Hanifin won't be dropping out of the top ten, but w/e.

Likewise, I can't see Mikko Rantanen dropping down as far as he is on Craig's list. That would be a nice pick for the Flames.

Pretty obvious where Buffalo goes at #2. Assuming the new regime in Edmonton doesn't pull and Edmonton of course.

Not quite so obvious where they go at #21. Wouldn't be surprised if they look to move up a few slots if a few of these guys slip down the board a bit since they've got 2 picks in the 2nd also.

Hoping for Provorov or Barzal for the Flyers.

Very much want them to avoid Crouse at #7.

Be interesting to see how well Mark Hunter fares with this aspect of the draft. I hope he has the Euros covered half as well as (he apparently has) the NA talent.

Should be an interesting draft. Not sure TOR stays at 4, and I wouldnt be bothered if they move up or down.

Travis Konecny at 33 on Craig's List? No way I see him dropping out of the first round (I think he's taken before we hit pick 20)

I don't think they move the pick. There are guys after the first two who are better than the 3 or 4 beneath them. Scouts just need to have their homework completed.

Going strictly by scouting reports n such as I've never seen him play, but if the Flyers go off the board a little at #7 I wouldn't hate for it to be him.

I could see him rising and Lawson Crouse plummeting.

I would love the Leafs to grab him at 24 (or move up to get him).

Not a bad spot for Jackets to be in at 8. If Provorov or Hanifin is there, they will grab either one. If not, Rantanen is a pretty attractive option.

And if for some reason all three are off the board (unlikely), Werenski is right there. Kinda hard to go wrong for what they need.

The Devils are pretty loaded with young D, we're already maxed out at the pro level and have 2 or 3 guys that are banging on the door in the minors so I'd be shocked if they went D at 6. If they do, I think you can expect some of their D to get shipped out for young forwards. I could see a guy like Jon Merrill getting moved if that's the case. It'll be interesting to see how Shero values the guys we have here already. He hasn't signed or drafted any of these guys so he has no loyalty to any of them.

I want a forward, just not Crouse.

Have you heard the name Kerby Rychel? Just give us whichever of your D men hits the hardest.

names ive seen/read linked to Canucks through the year are Merkley, Zboril, and Harkins. Saw the other day that the canucks scouts dont rate Carlo as high as Zboril :noidea:

and then theres Sir Benningtons wet dream in Burnaby winter clubs Matt Barzal ... Jimbo has followed him across western canada and the pac nw since late january when he got back in the lineup ... dont know what he could trade to get into a position to draft the local kid

That would be Steve Santini:

Hockey's Future - Steve Santini

As much as I'd love to see Santini in a Devils uniform as he appears to be as shutdown as they come, you have to spend money to make money. I expect him to push for a roster spot this season, if not, certainly next season.
