I like making 2 guys on the DL captains.

Defense is only as good as they are up front. Make them know they are the leaders.

I was thinking Rose-Ivey always seems to want to be in that vocal leader type of role. I guess missing all of last year probably doesn't help.

mackmullins as a SR and 3 yr starter

Bo would have named him captain. He seemed to think mutes who played average made good leaders ala Corey Cooper. The guy has said maybe five words since he got here.

sometimes it's necessary to force a guy to be a leader to get them to step up. Some folks can lead without being a captain. everyone is different.

i remember we had a guy liked that in HS. He was kinda mediocre and just kinda went through the motions. then he became captain and got a heck a lot more serious about football and ended up one of our conferences best linemen.

So that pretty much answers the QB competition.

I was already on record that TA was the QB. TA really put it together against Iowa and USC.

7 TD passes, 3 ints, 32/51 against USC with one INT, nearly 600 yards passing, all with the Barney Cotton coached line.

TA basically won the Iowa game and kept Nebraska in the USC game. If nebraska would have had linebackers or a DC with a clue, a possibility to beat USC.

I agree. I was just hoping for a more open comp. Possibly push him a little harder, maybe be surprised by a dark horse, etc.
