Is it just me or does it seem like the city of SF and STL are always screwing us over

Mike Minor has looked pretty decent his last 4 starts. Maybe he can be our Derek Lowe of a few years ago and have a big September after struggling most of the season to help us to the playoffs.

Johnny Venters has been shut down for the year. Could possibly need a third Tommy John Surgery.

Pitchers have come back from 3 or more TJ surgeries before, but I don't see Venters coming back from this.

Back to sucking again. Time to fire some people. No reason to be that streaky the last 2 years.

One more loss and the season is mathematically over for us, I believe. What a fucking joke of a season. There are going to have to be some serious changes in the off-season.

80ish wins. I don't like our pitching and I don't think our hitting will generate enough runs consistently.

Final record: 79-83.

That's 80ish! BOOM!

To be fair, the Braves did have two seasons within the past 10 years where they finished with 79 wins or less (2006 and 2008). Even if you take away the Braves hot start to this season (17-9 record), you still get a 62-74 record which is good for a .456 winning percentage. That mark is still better than the awful seasons they had in the mid to late 1980s. Outside of a great April and an awful September, the Braves were pretty much a .500 team. Which is kind of funny since they had nearly opposite records in April and September.

But yeah, this season really sucked. The Braves need to improve greatly on offense. The pitching was pretty good this year. I'd say the rotation for next year would look something like:

Teheran, Wood, Minor,...then maybe bring back Harang if it is cheap enough. I don't think the Braves should bring back Santana. $14 million is way too much for numbers he put up this year. I guess the Braves will also have to see how Medlen and Beachy are doing, and maybe give Hale a shot in the rotation.

Heyward had a 108 OPS+ this year. That would be the 3rd highest of Tucker's career. Heyward has a career OPS+ of 114. Tucker's is 95. Heyward's great defensively. Tucker wasn't.

Granted heyward hasn't played through the backside of his career yet. Offensively there's not much that separates the two
