I dont think so and I have never seen such strong animosity toward a team's owner from its fan base. The situation in Miami is so toxic and I feel bad for the young Marlins players. They are living their dream and working to be the best they can. Its just bad.

Thinking of walking up to the ball park and see if I can get a cheap contract to play for the marlins. Haven't played since high-school but am sure they will accept my asking price lol

No kidding...it's pretty sad. A brand-spanking-new stadium, a new uniform set, and a new identity, all for what, exactly?

Hey, HammerDown, where's Preisman? We could use the perspective of an ex-South Floridian in this thread.

I'm not trying to sound smug about my team, but it's been about 20 years since the Cardinals struggled this much. Even Busch Stadium II was pretty empty for awhile in the early 1990s after August Busch, Jr. passed away and ABIII ruled with a tightly-clenched fist and even tighter purse strings. The wins, and the fans, started coming back again after the '94 strike and new ownership (the present group) took over the following year. So I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like the Marlins' situation. It's sad and the real baseball fans in South Florida deserve so much better, as do the current members of the team.

I don't know Miami very well, but it would be hard to top the animosity of LA fans towards former Dodgers owner Frank McCourt.

BTW, welcome to LA for a 3 game series, Miami. Dodgers fans are again frustrated, this time by injuries and the poor performance of their team. In this situation I guess it would be fair to say, "May the least-bad team win."

You are now officially chasing history Marlins fans. Your team has now slipped under th winning percentage mark of the famously bad 1962 Mets.

how can these players put these uniforms on nightly with a straight face? Way to trash a great logo for some latin flair.

A clear indication of the state of their farm system?

In an organization rife with bad decisions, letting this guy go may be the worse of all.

It was 10 years ago today that Miguel Cabrera's first major league hit is a two-run walk-off homer in the eleventh inning of a 3-1 Marlin victory over the Devil Rays at Dolphin Stadium. The Marlins had signed the skinny 20-year old outfielder from Maracay, Venezuela as an amateur free agent in 1999.

I saw the title of this thread and thought to myself "this might be the most depressing thread on the forum"

Isn't so bad know that all the young guys are up and playing. Completely different team from first two months.
