Despite the lone goal, the US looked pretty strong today. I like the fast play and agressive offense. With Landon Donovan we should get at least to the knockout round of the WC.

How much possession did we end up with?

69%, though we were in the mid 70s until we scored the goal and Panama had to press. Really should have been 3-0 with the missed hand ball and EJ's blown gimme. Panama didn't have a single shot on goal.

Was at the game today and I was very happy we won.

I think we looked bad, luckily panama looked absolutely awful. They could not get a shot on goal. We missed a lot of easy chances.

I hope we can step up our game when the world cup comes around.

I don't think there is anything official, but I read a quote of Kinsmann's that said it doesn't look good.

Yep. It's bad.

CHICAGO (July 29, 2013) — U.S. Men’s National Team midfielder Stuart Holden has been diagnosed with a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee following an MRI evaluation Monday in Chicago.

Holden will consult with the medical teams of U.S. Soccer and Bolton Wanderers to formulate a treatment plan.

Looks like Mexico is keeping de la Torre as coach which doesn't shock me. While they could make a change, it's already getting late in the hour to do so before the WC. Then again, they are always trigger happy with firing coaches down there so his days are prob still numbered.

Gotta think Holden's career is over. Poor guy just can't stay healthy. What a shame.
