Game 1: Detroit won

Game 2: Detroit won

Game 3:Cleveland won

Game 4:Cleveland won

Game 5:Cleveland won a thriller

Game 6:Cleveland won and eliminated Detroit.

Boston's experience(or lack thereof) is about to be tested big time. Let's see if they have more control than Detroit did.

I think whoever wins Game 3 could very well win the series. Boston's been reselient this season but you should never count out Lebron.

If only it were 2006-'07.

While I'm not going to count the Cavs out because of Lebron. It's hard to picture him being able to bring them back. He's 33 and can't play both ends of the floor like he could back then.

They can pull it off, but Kevin Love is going to have to play a lot better than he did in even game 2 where he was pretty solid and guys like Korver and JR Smith are going to have to play with a consistency that they haven't shown all season.

Even with that, they have to overcome Boston's edge in athleticism and speed, so some help from the younger guys like Nance, Clarkson, etc. would help too.

Home cooking is a real thing, role players play worse on the road and the Celtics ara mostly role players, plus the Cavs role guys will be better.

Agree to a point. The Cavs role players should be better.

But Tatum and Brown are only role players because they weren't as hyped, imo. I think they're better than just role players.

Not only that, but the Celtics are in a completely different place than the Pistons were. This was an absolute collapse by a team that was starting to get fat and lazy, resting on their laurels in a weak Eastern Conference. Boston is young and hungry for what the Cavs have. If anything, it is the Cavs that are in more of the position that the 2006-07 Pistons were.

No doubt the series ain't over yet...

... that being said, I don't think that series 10+ years ago has any bearing whatsoever on what happens in the coming week or two.

.... And damn near the entire Celtics team are role players or 20 year old rookies/sophomores. :noidea:

How can an all time great in his prime and another HOFer still in his prime be losing to that exactly??

Three number 3 picks, a 14 and a 16 with a great coach?

Don't remember who Detroit's coach was at that time, but doubt they were as good as Stevens. Boston is young and inexperienced, but I have to think they are well coached enough to where they don't choke away a 2-0 series lead and if they can get to 3-0 or 3-1 most certainly won't choke the series away.

Then again, I never thought John Cena would overcome a 3 on 1 handicap match to win and become the #1 contender for the title.

He was the late Flip Saunders who took the pistons to two top seeds in the east in 06/07 and the T-wolves to the top seed in the west in 04. Granted, he was good at losing to number two seeds.

Are you suggesting that Pavlovic, Hughes, Gooden and Ilgauskus were better than this years group?

Detroit had a better roster than Cleveland then but had no LeBron.

Two games in the 07 ECF had winners put up less than 80.

Only one game saw 100.

Completely different game. Cleveland attempted 1 three in game one that year. One. LBJ didn't make one until
game 3.

This was my fav Lebron playoff series. The Dunk he had were his head nearly went over the backboard was amazing.
