The '01 Lakers had Mark Madsen. He was a helluva dancer. Advantage: L.A.

Warriors in 4.
Warriors go super small, which just opens everything up in the middle for Shaq. He has a 6'7 guy guarding him, of course you get him the ball every single time right? Then you go to the hack-a-shaq and use up 4 guys worth of fouls at the end of the bench. All the while Kobe is getting pissed off because he's not touching the ball and starts to deviate from the game plan and starts chucking up contested shots. Then Shaq gets pissed off because he's not getting the touches while having BBQ chicken guard him in the paint. They start to fight each other at center court and both get suspended the rest of the series.

*in reality though it's prob a 7 game series. Over the course of the series the Warriors wouldn't be able to guard someone like Shaq. Kobe they could deal with and throw bodies at, but even doubling Shaq with a super small lineup wouldn't really work because he's just too strong.
ROFLMAO @ anyone picking the Warriors. They're a great team but come on!!! Shaq would absolutely tear their assholes apart with that weak ass interior they got. Probably average somewhere in the neighborhood of 45-50ppg per game. And you got Kobe who was entering his prime. Then you got all those perimeter and bench players who could at least contain Durant/Curry/Thompson to a fair extent. Lakers in 6. That team was TOO GOOD. Warriors have the potential to be one of the greats, but that '01 Lakers Squad with Shaq at his peak is probably top 3 all time just below the '96 Bulls and around the '86 Celtics level. Warriors aren't up to par with that.
Warriors are great though no denying that. Durant/Curry are great but they are no 2001 Shaq/Kobe.
Having an all time great BIG at his peak is far more important than having an all time great perimeter at their peak as the game is just EASIER to play. Unless its Jordan.
What Gasol/Aldridge did to them in Game 1, Multiply that TIMES TEN and you see what Shaq would do to them.
That 2001 Lakers is probably the ONLY TEAM I could ever see having a legit shot at the '96 Bulls. No other team has a shot.
If I were to put in tiers I would say,
1A- 96/97 Bulls
1B- 86 Celtics, 2001 Lakers
..........................
2A- Warriors or that 2nd year Heat team with Lebron/Wade
He's a perfect example of a white guy that should never dance in public.
That SHAQ was in great shape. He was still in his 20s and razor focused to win.
Dont confuse him with the fatter lazy dis-interested SHAQ.
2000-2002 SHAQ was the best player who ever played the game, and it aint even close.
Sure, his career was up and down thanks to commitment levels. But, we are discussing the 2001 version.
Kobe and Rick Fox were elite defenders at this point in time who would slow down KD and Thompson.
Robert Horry was a criminally under-rated defender. He should have made at least one all NBA defense.
He could easily guard any post players and protect Shaq if needed.
Even Fisher was a good defender if not quite as good as Fox, Kobe, and Horry.
Recipe for the 4 game sweep (3 steps):
1) Just throw the ball to SHAQ. Laugh out loud watching the GS bigs get annihilated.
2) Send out all those great defenders on the other end...and let Shaq coast a bit on defense.
3) Raise Trophy after 4 easy Laker wins.
